With the rising proliferation of prescription medications across the nation, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects national employment of pharmacy technicians to grow by 20% for the decade 2012 to 2022.[Leer en español]
With a relatively small population of 587,000, the Equality State is estimated to have 610 employment opportunities for pharmacy technicians, up from 530 in 2012, showing an anticipated growth rate of 14.8% over the 10-year period.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, you can receive an average annual salary of $44,160 (or an average hourly wage of $21.23) if you reach the 90 percentile of technician earners. This compares with an average annual salary of $28,700 for the 25 percentile of tech earners, or an average hourly wage of $13.80.
The 10 percentile of pharm techs, which includes newcomers, receive on average annual salary of $24,350, representing an average hourly wage of $11.71. This rises to a mean hourly wage of $16.29, or a mean annual salary of $33,880.

Applicants must be clear of substance abuse convictions for the past 3 years. They must be at least 18, must have a high school diploma or GED and have to be enrolled in a training program that is approved by the Wyoming Board of Pharmacy. With their application, candidates must submit a check or money order for $15 (and $35 for annual renewals).
In order to satisfy the Board’s training requirement, pharmacists in charge commonly rely on the National Pharmacy Technician training program which leads to the certification exam ExCPT Exam and Board certification.
Casper College has both a pharm tech Certificate and an Associate Degree program at their campus in Casper. Both options require that applicants be high school (or equivalent) graduates and must comply with a list of requirements that you can check on the same link.

U.S. Career Institute has a pharm tech Diploma program in as little as four months. Pay in full for $687 or in automatic payments for $837, or pay with a down payment of $49 for a monthly plan at a total of $887.
Ashworth College also offers a Diploma program with a 120-hour externship at a Walgreens or CVS pharmacy.

Casper College offers multiple training options, including an Associate program and a Certificate program. Classes are taken at their campus in the city of Casper, Wyoming. Most of the school’s 4,082 students are on 2-year programs. Casper College has institutional accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission, and the programs are separately accredited by American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.* The cost of tuition for in-state students is about $2,448 and for students from other states in the order of $6,240 per year, while study materials may cost in the order of $1,200, as necesitated by the chosen program. This program is ASHP accredited. The program staff includes a technician,a lab/clerical support member, and a pharmacist. Candidates can expect to attend an interview. Class scheduling: Flexible.
