These correspond to an average annual salary of $20,480 for new entrants, to an average annual salary of $22,940 for the 25 percentile, and to an annual mean salary of $28,860.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, pharm techs can earn an average annual salary of $39,960 upon reaching the 90 percentile of all techs. Pursuing additional academic accomplishments would enhance those prospects.

Candidates for pharm tech registration must submit an application to the Virginia Board of Pharmacy together with a check or money order for $25 (annual renewals at $25 also). They must also provide evidence of completion from a board-approved training program and a passing score on a board-approved exam (or be certified by a board-approved program). Continuing Education equal to at least 5 contact hours of approved training.
